Leclerc Loom and an Antique Coverlet
I found an older Leclerc loom and an antique coverlet at the Cameron Auctions last week. The Leclerc loom I found at an auction in June 2023. It even has a reed (that needs to be cleaned) and a warping board! But it doesn’t have a crank or the friction brake piece. I was tickled to find this antique coverlet at an auction in June 2023. Note the seam in the middle of the coverlet and the ends – I don’t believe this was ever properly finished. It is quite heavy and has a few stains so I’ll have to finish it and soak it in warm water and soap…

A Visit from a pair of Baltimore Orioles
This pair of Baltimore Orioles seem to be staying around for a few days. We’ve been feeding them oranges… They are so beautiful, but the oranges are very expensive! Let me know if you’ve seen any of these beautiful birds in your back yard. What are you feeding them? (They were actually eating out of the Hummingbird feeder before we bought the oranges!)

It’s framed and ready to install at the Hanwell Park Academy! This is the shadow box before the plexiglass is inserted… it says “Hanwell Park Academy” on the left and “Make Your Mark” on the right.

75 Years of Weaving in the
Guild of Canadian WeaversI have two pieces in the Guild of Canadian Weavers online exhibition, although they didn’t make it in the GCW Bulletin and I’m not sure why! I was sooooo disappointed that it wasn’t included in the Bulletin but it is included in the online exhibition. Check it out at: https://thegcw.ca/exhibition/karenleblanc

Honeybee Folk School
I’ll be teaching a 7-week Intro to Weaving course at the NB College of Craft and Design starting Feb 15. I’m looking forward to meeting my students and having fun teaching them what I love to do! This scarf on the loom is a sample for the class!
